Mobiles phones are one of the things without which many people cannot exist today.For those who would like to have a simple insight into this genial technology can read this.. wherein i would describe it in layman terms for all those non-techno mobile freaks….

The Mobile phone technology majorly works under 2 types

- CDMA ( code division multiple access)

- GSM ( Global System for Mobile Communication)]

The use of these technologies varies from country to country…. for eg. In countries like the US, CDMA technology is more popular and in countries like India , GSM is popular.

So speaking on the GSM technology first … In this technology … the basic concept is based on cells.As we know cells are hexagonal in shape,the areas are covered on the basis of cells.So within each cell there is a tower which transmits the signals… So the users within each cell receive the coverage from their respective towers and when they call people in different places this is the structure

The call is made by the user -> which then is sent to respective tower -> there the tower checks the coordinates of the destination call and contacts the respective tower -> then the tower sends the signal to the destination which is then answered by the user…. and then after establishing this connection the call gets established…

Now coming to the CDMA technology … In this,the technique is centralized . All the users communicate to the satellite through which they get connected with each other.Moreover due to the centraliztion the quality is better by the direct use of satelllites.But due to increased usage of users their occur bandwith problems due to which there are chances of interference and the signal strength getting reduced as a result there might be poor sound quality.
